Punchh Platform Release Notes - 14 January 2025 Deployment

The updates described in these release notes and the affected/linked documentation will not be available in the Punchh platform until the target deployment date.

New User Interfaces for Platform Navigation and Segments Home Page

New user interfaces for Punchh Platform's left-side panel and Segments home page have been released. (CAM-5757, PDOC-2486, PDOC-2794)

Platform Navigation

Key updates for the left-side panel include: 

  • New organization structure of pages
  • Search function for navigation to pages
  • Updated page titles for select pages

Segments

Key updates for the Segments home page (Guests > All Segments) include: 

  • Tagging feature for segments
  • Filtered search for segments
  • Sorting of segments list
  • Right side panel for segment details (click segment name to view)

Notification Templates Tab Renamed to General

The Notification Templates tab under Loyalty Program > System Messages (page name formerly Notification Templates) has been renamed to General. (INT-2914, PDOC-2807)

New Option To Enable Use of Business Payment Credentials

A new option, Enable Use of Business Payment Credentials, has been added to ensure seamless payment processing when location-specific payment credentials are not available. (INT-2902)

Track How Many Gift Cards Can Be Auto-Reloaded

Brands can now gain deeper insights into their gift card performance. In the existing Gift Cards section, you can easily track how many of your total gift cards have the Auto-Reload feature enabled. This functionality is available exclusively for brands with the Gift Card Auto-Reload feature activated. (INT-2528, PDOC-2809)

Save Non-Loyalty Transaction Flag in Olo Settings

We have introduced a new Save Non-Loyalty Transaction flag in the Olo settings to improve transaction data handling for businesses using Micros 3700 or Simphony POS systems. This update ensures that non-loyalty transactions from the Olo Order Closed webhook are accurately saved and transmitted to ISL for spend-lift reporting. This enhancement bridges data gaps by addressing the absence of non-loyalty transaction data from these POS systems. (INT2-1766)

Key Features

  • Condition-Based Transaction Saving
    • Non-loyalty transactions are saved only if the:
              * Order Closed webhook is enabled
              * Save Non-Loyalty Transaction flag is active
              * Transaction is identified as non-loyalty
  • Accurate Data Mapping
    • Captures key transaction fields such as:
              * Menu items
              * Transaction number
              * Subtotal
              * Receipt amount
  • No Unnecessary User Creation: Non-loyalty transactions will not trigger user creation (loyalty or eClub) unless explicitly enabled by your Punchh representative.
  • Double Earning Fix Protection: Existing double-earning fixes are not affected by this update.
  • ISL Transmission: Ensures that all saved transactions are correctly transmitted to ISL for accurate spend-lift reporting.

Action Required: If you are a Micros 3700 or Simphony customer, contact your Punchh representative with questions about this update.

Coupon Code Generation

Coupon code generation prevents text strings that could be interpreted as offensive or profanity from being generated. Admins with Superadmin access can go to Global Configurations > Exclude Coupon Code List to add a list of words to be excluded from coupon code generation. This will update the coupon code list in real-time, reducing the implementation time and removing the dependency from the legacy process of production support to update the coupon code list from the backend. (OMM-1152, EPS-9435, PDOC-2810)

Action Required: Contact your Punchh representative to enable this feature.

Resolved Issue With Incorrect Notifications About Points Expiring

Resolved an issue where a business on the 'Annually on Membership Level Bump Anniversary' evolution strategy was getting notifications with incorrect information about points balance. Resolution: The notification will send the available points balance of the user instead of the total points earned to date. (EPS-9468)

Resolved Issue That Prevented Copying Location Groups

Resolved an issue where, when trying to duplicate an existing location group, the new location group would not save. (EPS-9511)

Campaigns

Localization Support for Challenge Campaigns

Customer-facing fields in challenge campaigns (Name, Description, Gift Reason, and Miscellaneous Data) will support localization to provide more flexible options for businesses to adapt to different geographies. In the challenges API, the Accept-Language parameter must be passed with the required language code (fr-CA, es-CR, fr, en). Depending on the input value provided in fields that support multiple languages, the fields will return the value in the localized language. (LCM-2649, PDOC-2811)

New Attributes for Single Scan Flow Segment Type

The Discount Type and Discount Amount attributes have been added for the Single Scan Flow segment type. (SB-3148, PDOC-2812)

Status Field Added to Locations Export

The location summary export includes a new ‘Status’ field, enabling brands to easily self-audit approved and disapproved locations. (DP1-1587, PDOC-2806)

Redemptions 2.0 APIs Return Maximum Quantity Applicable for Discount

The max_applicable_quantity response parameter has been added to various Redemptions 2.0 (multiple redemptions) API endpoints. This parameter returns the maximum quantity that can be discounted for offers made with Rate Rollback, Target Price for Bundle, and Target Price for Bundle (Advanced) functions. (OMM-652, PDOC-2820)
