Memberships: Overview

Overview

Punchh Memberships allows your business to run a program on top of your core loyalty module, wherein guests can purchase one or more Memberships to get access to member-only perks such as attractive discounts on popular items or entire transactions. Apart from generating upfront revenue for your business, Punchh Memberships nurture loyalty, engagement, and retention.

The product offers analytics, segmentation, guest communication, and customer relations support out of the box, which allows you to take full advantage of the product and get creative with your offerings.

Currently, Punchh supports the following discount offerings, which provide guests with different types of benefits by subscribing to a plan:

% and $ Off (Menu Item Discount): A popular use case, this discount type allows your business to slash the price for a specific Menu Item, Menu Item Group, or Menu Item Family. E.g. A restaurant could create a Membership program for its popular menu item and allow subscribers to purchase the same at a discounted price while non-subscribers pay the standard price.
% and $ Off (Receipt Level Discount): Another popular use case, this discount type allows your business to discount the entire check by a certain % or flat $ amount. E.g. Businesses could run a high-value monthly Membership plan, using which guests can get all their transactions in a month discounted by 10%. The discounting engine supports exclusions out of the box so if you don’t want to include Alcohol purchases in the discount amount, you can easily configure the Discounting Rule to do so.
Rate Rollback: Commonly used in the Convenience Store vertical (but not limited to it), this discount type allows your business to reduce the per unit price of a Menu Item. E.g. A convenience store could reduce the price of fuel per gallon for its members while non-subscribers purchase it at the standard price.

Platform Features

By including Memberships in your business you have access to several additional features within the platform. Click the following links for more details about each feature.

Membership Plans: The Membership Plans page (Wallet and Passes > Membership Plans) is your home base for creating and managing all the plans your brand offers.
Guest Profile: Memberships: The Memberships tab (Guests > 'guest's name' > Memberships) in the guest profile shows the Membership plan details for the guest. This page also allows admins to cancel a guest's Membership as needed.
Membership Analytics: The Membership Analytics ( Wallet and Passes > Membership Analytics) page provides your business with key insights and data on your Membership service.
Membership Log: The Membership Log (Diagnostic > Membership Log) page allows you to view Membership purchases, cancellations, and renewals from the last 90 days. You can also search for specific guests by their name or email.
System Messages: Memberships: The Membership System Message tab (Loyalty Program > System Messages > Membership Templates) allows you to create and customize communication sent to guests about their Membership status as they purchase, renew, or cancel their plan.
Membership Cancellation Reasons: The Membership Cancellation Reasons (Wallet and Passes > Membership Cancellation Reasons) page allows you to control what cancellation reasons are provided to the guest so that you can keep track of why different guests are canceling their Memberships.

Guests are able to purchase and auto-renew their Membership plans via a saved credit or debit card within the app.
