Definition
Item Qualifier Recycling allows qualifying items to be reused between different discount logics.
Note: Item Qualifiers Recycling pertains to referenced items; Stacked Discounting pertains to targeted items.
Configuration
Multiple Redemptions must be enabled first, before enabling Item Qualifier Recycling.
When Item Qualifier Recycling is enabled, the below check box will appear within the Qualification Criteria (QC) and Redeemable workflows. Check the box to turn ON qualifier recycling to allow the qualifying items within that QC or Redeemable to be applied towards multiple discounts. Leave the box unchecked to disable qualifier recycling for that particular QC or Redeemable.
Different configurations of a QC may function differently when implementing Item Qualifier Recycling. The system flags qualifying items to be marked as “used“ in the redemption of a discount. Different qualifying functions use distinct methods to flag qualifying items.
- Net Quantity Greater than or equal to: When a QC is evaluated, all quantities of items referenced as marked as “used”.
- Net Amount Greater than or equal to: When a QC is evaluated, all quantities of items referenced as marked as “used”.
- Line Item Exists: When a QC is evaluated, one quantity of referenced items is marked as used.
- Net Quantity Equal to: When a QC is evaluated, the same quantity of referenced items is marked as used.
- Line Item Does Not Exist: Logic does not apply
Use Case
The qualifying condition and menu item IDs are shared across multiple offers
You have created a Qualification Criteria (QC) for a buy one, get one (BOGO) meal offer. The prerequisite or qualifying condition for this offer is that one sandwich and one fries must be present on the receipt. You also have another offer for 10% off a sandwich, which requires one sandwich to be present on the receipt. With Item Qualifier Recycling, the guest can receive the BOGO offer, a second sandwich and fries with the purchase of one sandwich and fries, AND 10% off the purchased sandwich. The same qualifying condition was met for both offers, so both offers are applied.
