How to Configure Preselection in Size, Combo & Modifier Product Groups

The Preselection feature in Size, Combo & Modifier Product Groups allows you to automatically select specific products as preselected options for customers, simplifying the ordering process and reducing questions about product variations. Preselection is configured at the product group level by default, but you can also override it for individual parent products, so that different parent products can have different default selections from the same shared group. Key concepts include:

How to Preselect a Product in Size product group

1. Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
2. Navigate to the Product Groups page under Menu in the MC.
3. Select the Size product group you wish to update the preselection.
4. Select ‘Contains products’ tab.
5. All the sizes attached to the product group are on the right hand side.
6. By default the first product is preselected.
   1. To change select the radio button of the size you wish to be the preselected size.
   2. You cannot unselect and product by clicking the radio button again, as preselection is required.

How to Preselect a Product in Combo product group

1. Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
2. Navigate to the Product Groups page under Menu in the MC.
3. Select the Combo product group you wish to add or update the preselection.
4. Select ‘Contains Products’ tab.
5. All the products attached to the combo product group are on the right hand side.
6. To add a preselection to a product, select the radio button.
7. To remove a preselection from a product unselect the radio button.
8. Only one product can be preselected

How to Preselect Products in Modifier product group

1. Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
2. Navigate to the Product Groups page under Menu in the MC.
3. Select the Modifier product group you wish to add or update the preselection.
4. Select ‘Contains Products’ tab.
5. All the modifiers attached to the product group are on the right hand side.
6. To add a preselection to a product, select the checkmark / radio button.
7. To remove a preselection from a product unselect the checkmark / radio button.

How to Preselect Multiple Quantities of one Product in Modifier product group

1. Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
2. Navigate to the Product Groups page under Menu in the MC.
3. Select the Modifier product group you wish to add or update the preselection.
4. Select ‘Contains Products’ tab.
5. All the modifiers attached to the product group are on the right hand side.
6. Turn ‘Preselected & max quantities’ toggle on.
7. In the ‘Preselected’ field on the product card, enter the number that represents the preselected quantity. For example, if 3 is entered for the Bacon product, the app will show it as 3x Bacon, preselected.
8. To remove a preselection from a product delete the number or unselect the checkmark.

How to Override Preselection for a Specific Product

By default, preselection is set at the product group level and applies to every parent product that uses that group. You can override preselection for an individual parent product without affecting other products that share the same group.

1. Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
2. Navigate to Menu V2 > Products and open the product you want to configure.
3. Select the Contains product groups tab.
4. On the product group panel you want to update, select the ⋯ (more options) menu.
5. Select Manage preselection.
6. In the modal, review the current state for each child product:

• Inherited: The child follows the product group's default preselection.
• Overridden: The child deviates from the group default for this product only.

7. Adjust preselection using the controls displayed:

• Radio buttons: For size/combo groups and "exactly one" modifier groups. Selecting one child automatically deselects the others.
• Checkboxes: For standard on/off modifier selections.
• Quantity fields: When a child product can be preselected in multiple quantities. Enter a value up to the child's maximum allowed quantity.

8. To remove an override and restore the group default, select Reset to inherited next to the child product.
9. Select Done to save your changes.
