How to Batch Distribute and Publish Multiple Menus

Batch Distribute and Publish Multiple Menus

The Batch Distribute & Publish feature allows brand managers to select multiple menus and distribute and publish them in a single action from the Menu Publishing page.

The batch runs as a background job. A brand manager can navigate away from the page or close the browser tab while processing continues on the server.

Menus are processed sequentially. A failure on one menu does not prevent the remaining menus from being processed.

Where to Find the Feature

  1. Navigate to Brand > Menu > Menu Publishing.
  2. Locate the Ready for distribution section.
  3. Select one or more menus using the row checkboxes.
  4. A Distribute & Publish button appears in the bulk-edit toolbar at the top of the table.

How Batch Processing Works

Selection

Select one or more menus in the Ready for distribution section. The Distribute & Publish button becomes available in the bulk toolbar.

Locked During Processing

Once processing begins, all checkboxes are disabled.

The batch processes the exact menu selection that existed when the button was clicked. Changes made after processing starts are not included in the current batch.

Sequential Processing

Menus are distributed and published one at a time in the order they appear.

Background Job

The batch runs server-side. Brand managers can leave the page or close the browser tab without interrupting processing.

Skip on Failure

If a menu fails distribution:

  • The menu is returned to Ready for distribution.
  • An error indicator is displayed.
  • The batch continues with the next menu.

If a menu fails publishing:

  • The menu is returned to Distributed.
  • An error indicator is displayed.
  • The batch continues with the next menu.

No manual intervention is required for the remaining menus in the batch.

No Separate Publish Step Required

Menus that are successfully distributed are automatically published as part of the same batch operation.

Benefits of the Feature

Before this release, brand managers had to distribute each menu individually, wait for distribution to complete, and then publish the menu separately.

For brands managing many menus, this required remaining active in the Management Center throughout the entire process.

Batch Distribute & Publish streamlines this workflow by allowing multiple menus to be distributed and published through a single action, even when the manager is no longer present when processing completes.

Prerequisites

Each menu must satisfy the standard distribution pre-flight requirements before it can be included in a batch.

  • At least one order channel assigned.
  • At least one order type assigned.
  • At least one store group assigned.
  • At least one category containing a product.

Menus that do not meet these requirements will not appear in the Ready for distribution table and cannot be included in a batch.

How to Use Batch Distribute & Publish

  1. Log in to the Management Center using Brand Manager or Super Admin credentials.
  2. Navigate to Menu > Menu Publishing.
  3. In the Ready for distribution section, select the menus to process. You may also use the header checkbox to select all menus.
  4. Click Distribute & Publish in the bulk toolbar.
  5. The batch starts immediately and checkboxes become locked during processing.
  6. Progress is reflected on the page as each menu moves through distribution and publishing.
  7. Review the results after processing completes.

Successful Menus

  • Appear in Published in all stores.

Distribution Failures

  • Remain in Ready for distribution.
  • Display an error indicator.
  • Can be retried using Retry or Distribute.

Publish Failures

  • Remain in Distributed.
  • Can be republished using the individual Publish button.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change my selection after the batch starts?

No. The selection is locked when the batch starts. Checkboxes remain disabled while processing is in progress.

After the current batch completes and checkboxes become available again, a new batch can be started with a different selection.

What happens if I close the tab or navigate away?

The batch continues running on the server. Return to the Menu Publishing page to view updated statuses.

One menu failed. Did the others still get processed?

Yes. A failure on one menu does not stop processing for the remaining menus.

The failed menu returns to its previous state with an error indicator, and the batch continues.

I individually distributed one menu before starting the batch. Why isn't it included?

Batch Distribute & Publish only processes menus that are currently in the Ready for distribution state.

Menus that have already been distributed are in either Distributed or Ready for publishing and are not included in the batch.

Can I batch-publish menus that are already distributed?

No.

Batch Distribute & Publish only processes menus in the Ready for distribution state and executes the full distribution and publishing workflow.

Menus already in Ready for publishing must be published individually.

Why isn't the Distribute & Publish button appearing?

The button appears only when at least one menu in the Ready for distribution section is selected.
