How to Monitor POS Sync Status and Perform Bulk Price Syncs Across a Brand
POS Sync Status Page for Monitoring and Bulk Price Synchronization
The POS Sync Status page provides a brand-level view of POS price-synchronization activity across all stores within a brand.
Operators can monitor synchronization status, trigger manual price syncs for individual stores, synchronize selected stores, perform bulk price syncs across an entire store group, and manage POS caches without navigating to each store individually.
Accessing the POS Sync Status Page
- Navigate to Brand > Menu products > POS Sync Status.
- The navigation entry appears in the left sidebar under the Menu products section, directly below POS Mapping.
- The page is only visible when operating in the brand (all-stores) context. The page does not appear when a single store is selected.
Understanding the POS Sync Status Page
Store List
The page displays a flat, searchable list of all stores within the brand.
Each row represents a store and displays the most recent synchronization entry for that store. The information shown is the same data available on the existing store-level POS Synchronization page.
Integration Tabs
If the brand uses multiple POS integrations through separate store groups, a tab bar appears above the table.
Each tab represents a different integration store group.
Selecting a tab filters the table to stores belonging to that integration group.
Switching tabs also clears any in-progress bulk synchronization state associated with the previously selected tab.
Field Description
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Store Name | Displays the store's display name. |
| Last Sync | Displays the timestamp of the most recent synchronization. When the store's timezone differs from the operator's timezone, both timestamps are displayed. Example: Mar 24, 2026 at 10:32 AM (Mar 24, 2026 at 4:32 PM – Your time). When both timezones match, only one timestamp is shown. |
| Type | Indicates how the synchronization was triggered:
|
| Status | Displays one of the following values:
|
POS Sync Actions
All synchronization buttons and selection controls are available only to users with brand manage permission (Brand_MenuV2).
Users with read-only access can view synchronization data but cannot perform actions.
Per-Store Sync
Each row includes a refresh icon in the Actions column.
Selecting the refresh icon triggers an immediate manual price synchronization for that store.
While synchronization is running:
- The store status changes to Syncing.
- A spinner replaces the refresh icon.
When synchronization completes, the status updates to Completed or displays an error message without requiring a page refresh.
Sync Selected Stores
Each row includes a selection checkbox. A header checkbox is also available for selecting all stores displayed on the current page.
After one or more stores are selected, a Sync Selected button appears in the toolbar.
Selecting Sync Selected queues a manual synchronization for all selected stores simultaneously.
The selected checkboxes are cleared after the action is submitted.
Sync All Prices
The Sync All Prices button appears in the toolbar.
Selecting this option queues a manual price synchronization for every eligible store in the active integration store group.
Stores that are offline or unreachable are automatically excluded from the synchronization queue. No blocking error is displayed, and excluded stores do not count toward the progress total.
After synchronization begins, the button is replaced by a live progress counter.
Example:
4/30 stores completed
The progress counter updates every 10 seconds through background polling.
When all queued synchronizations have completed or been skipped, the button returns to its default state.
If an operator leaves the page and returns while a bulk synchronization is still running, the page restores the synchronization state and continues displaying the live progress counter.
Cache Management
In addition to synchronization actions, operators can manage POS caches independently of triggering synchronization.
Flush POS Cache (Per Store)
Each row contains a settings (⋮) menu with a Flush POS Cache option.
This action clears cached POS data for the selected store only.
Use this action when POS data appears stale or when troubleshooting stale item availability.
Clear All Caches
The Clear All Caches button appears in the toolbar.
This action clears POS caches for all stores within the active integration store group.
A spinner replaces the button while the operation is running.
Permissions
| User Type | Can See the Page | Can Trigger Syncs / Flush Caches |
|---|---|---|
| Brand manage permission (Brand_MenuV2) | Yes | Yes — all synchronization, selection, and cache management controls are available. |
| Brand view-only / read permission | Yes | No — action buttons, checkboxes, and cache controls are hidden. |
| Store-level context (no brand selected) | No — the navigation entry is not displayed. | N/A |
Confirming Sync Status for a Brand
- Open the brand in the Management Center.
- Expand Menu products in the left navigation menu.
- Select POS Sync Status.
- If multiple POS integrations exist, select the appropriate integration tab.
- Use the search field to locate a specific store if needed.
- Review the Last Sync and Status columns.
- Identify stores that have not synchronized recently or that display errors.
- Trigger a manual synchronization using the refresh icon, or use Sync All Prices if multiple stores are affected.
Frequently Asked Questions
My POS prices are out of date. How can I update all stores at once?
Navigate to Brand → Menu products → POS Sync Status and select Sync All Prices.
The progress counter displays synchronization progress in real time.
Offline stores are automatically skipped and do not block synchronization for other stores.
One store has incorrect POS prices. Do I need to synchronize every store?
No.
Locate the store in the table and select the refresh icon to synchronize that store only.
The progress counter appears stuck. Did the synchronization fail?
The progress counter updates every 10 seconds.
If it has not changed after approximately 30 seconds, review the Status column for affected stores.
If stores display an Error status, record the error message and escalate to Engineering if the issue is not a known transient POS connectivity problem.
Why does POS Sync Status not appear in the navigation menu?
Verify the following:
- The user is operating in the brand context rather than a store-specific context.
- The user has Brand_MenuV2 permission.
View-only users can access the page but cannot perform synchronization actions.
What is the difference between Sync All Prices and Flush POS Cache?
Sync All Prices retrieves the latest menu pricing from PAR Menu and synchronizes it with the POS.
Flush POS Cache clears cached POS data within PAR Menu.
This is useful when POS data displayed in PAR Menu appears stale.
Flushing the cache does not synchronize pricing. It forces a fresh data retrieval during the next synchronization cycle.
Does this replace the store-level POS Synchronization page?
No.
The existing store-level POS Synchronization page remains unchanged.
The POS Sync Status page provides a consolidated brand-level view and management interface.
Will offline stores synchronize when they come back online?
Offline stores are excluded from a Sync All Prices operation when the action is initiated.
They are synchronized during the next scheduled synchronization cycle after becoming reachable, or an operator can trigger a manual synchronization from this page.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | First Thing to Check |
|---|---|
| POS Sync Status page not visible in navigation | Verify that the user is in brand context and has Brand_MenuV2 permission. |
| Sync All Prices button is not visible | The user likely has view-only permission. The table remains visible, but action controls are hidden. |
| Store displays – in Last Sync | No synchronization has been recorded for the store. Trigger a manual synchronization. |
| Store displays Error in Status | Record the error message. Common causes include POS connectivity issues or invalid POS mappings. Escalate to Engineering with the error details. |
| Bulk synchronization counter stopped updating | Review the Status column for errors. The counter updates every 10 seconds; allow at least 30 seconds before assuming the process is stalled. |
| Store excluded from Sync All Prices and not counted in progress | The store is likely offline or unreachable. Verify store connectivity separately. |
| Multiple tabs appear on the page | Expected behavior. The brand contains multiple integration store groups. Synchronization actions apply only to the active tab. |
| Prices remain stale after Sync All Prices completes | Use Flush POS Cache (per store or Clear All Caches) and then rerun Sync All Prices. If the issue persists, escalate with the store ID and any error messages. |
