How to Handle Errors in the Ordering Pilot App
Handling POS Error Orders
What is a POS Error Order?
A POS error occurs when an order fails to reach the Point of Sale (POS) system during its transition to the Active or In-Progress state.
How It’s Identified
- A POS Error event notification is triggered.
- The order is flagged with a POS Error tag in the order list.
- A red error box appears in the order details screen explaining the issue.
Resolving the Error
- Manually enter the order into the POS.
- Once resolved, the POS should notify the app, and the order will return to its normal state. (To be confirmed)
Completing the Order
- Once marked as Completed, the POS Error tag is removed.
- The order moves to the Completed Orders section with no further indication of the error.
Handling Status Update Errors
What is a Status Error?
Occurs when an order fails to update from Incoming to In-Progress.
How It’s Identified

- A descriptive error message appears in the order details.
How to Fix It
- Open the Action Menu.
- Select Refresh Order Status (only visible for affected orders).
- The app will attempt to update the order status.
Outcomes
- ✅ If successful: A toast notification confirms the update, and the order moves to In-Progress.
- ❌ If failed: A generic error dialog appears.
Handling Internet Connection Issues
What Happens When Disconnected

- The app becomes non-interactive until the issue is resolved.
How to Reconnect
