Punchh Platform Release Notes - 15 July 2025 Deployment
The updates described in these release notes and the affected/linked documentation will not be available in the Punchh platform until the target deployment date.
Loyalty
Expiry-First Redemption Logic for Currency Usage
With this enhancement, the redemption engine will prioritize the usage of banked currency that is closest to expiration before using older balances (earned earlier but expiring later), ensuring that customers and brands experience a more intuitive and fair usage of promotional or short-term currency, and complaints about lost expiring credits are reduced. Segments
Platform Terminology and New Guest Segmentation
At Punchh, we’re always working to give you smarter insights into your loyalty members—and now, everyone else too.
To make things more intuitive, we’re changing the way we talk about the people who interact with your brand with some updated terminology:
- Guest: Someone who’s placed an online order or signed up for marketing emails, but hasn’t joined your loyalty program—yet.
- Member: Someone who’s officially part of your loyalty program.
What’s Changing Now?
This new terminology will be reflected in the Segments section of the platform as of July 15. Stay tuned for when you’ll see these new terms across the rest of the platform.
We also have the launch of a brand new "Guest" segment! You’ll be able to engage with previously untapped audiences using powerful filters like:
- Most Visited Location
- Last Visited Location
- Visit Count
- Visit Date
That means more strategic targeting, smarter campaigns, and a bigger impact, beyond just your loyalty base. (SB-3567 SB-3593, PDOC-3153, PDOC-3159)
