How Do I Read The Target Versus The Actual Interactive Report

Cost of Goods, or COGS analysis is the difference between the Target and Actual report. Meaning, what was rung up on your POS compared to what was actually used of each product.

Data Central presents an overview of the Target and Actual report for a particular period of time, or a From and Through Date. This report will show total net sales and a key explaining components of the report, such as Variance, Actual Quantity, and Actual Cost.

This is helpful because the report shows how much above or below target the cost for a particular product was. You’ll see that the Variance Quantity is the Actual, minus the Target Quantity.

Waste quantity is also recorded, but waste does not affect the actual or Target, it is simply there to explain the Variance amount.
